The Story of Nüwa
According to legend, during China's mythical Golden Age, heaven and earth were still separate entities. They were connected by an enormous pillar called the Pillar of Heaven. However, when this pillar began to crumble due to the mischievous actions of two monstrous creatures—the Ox Head and Horse Head Heavenly Stems—a massive hole opened up between heaven and earth.
Faced with this crisis, Emperor Yao summoned his most skilled craftsmen to repair the damaged pillar. But their efforts only made things worse; they accidentally created more monsters that further weakened the connection between heaven and earth.
Enter Nüwa—the half-human, half-dragon goddess who would save humanity from certain destruction.
With her extraordinary strength and divine powers, Nüwa climbed Mount Kunlun (a sacred mountain in Chinese mythology) where she found five colored stones—red for fire prevention; blue for water control; yellow for metal production; white for grain growth; green for vegetation protection—and black which represented darkness or voidness. Using these magical stones as raw materials combined with dragon bones mixed into clay formings resembling ox horns (from Ox Head) and horse teeth (from Horse Head), she crafted two new pillars: one red on top representing fire prevention while its base was white symbolizing grain growth.
