红楼梦丫鬟笑语生厌烦广州官吏
《红楼梦》中的丫鬟笑语生对广州官员颇无好感，笔下的一股怨气扑面而来，让人猜测作者肯定吃过广州人的亏，所以要形诸笔墨发泄发泄。广州官员如何不堪，我们来看看《金瓶梅》中是怎么描述江西人的。
第四十九回，西门庆在府中接待蔡御史、宋巡按，这个蔡御史刚点了两淮巡盐御史，是西门庆搞盐业贩卖需要巴结的官儿；宋巡按的官职全称是巡按山东监察御史，相当于山东省纪委，西门庆要想在官场大有所为，更是巴结须臾不可离。上次西门庆收受苗青贿赂一千两银子，就是被当时的巡按山东监察御史曾孝序，被迫到蔡京处送礼才化险为夷的。所以，西门庆此次安排下酒宴、歌舞戏文，费了足有千两金银。
这个宋巡按字乔年，号松原，受蔡京指使暗中陷害曾孝序，使其先被降级使用，再被罢官流放岭南，可见不是什么好鸟。这宋巡按在西门府坐了没多大会儿，就起身要走。蔡御史和西门庆都再三挽留，但他只说是还要到察院去处理公事，又走了。临走，他把一桌酒席和金银餐具打包送给了宋巡并且将其作为对自己的感谢之举表达出来。而这个Song Patrolling Officer, he was a man from Nanjing, known for his arrogant and haughty demeanor. He had always been critical of others and never failed to show off his wealth.
In the novel "The Plum in the Golden Vase", many officials who interacted with Ximen Qing were described as corrupt and greedy. Among them, there was one official named Song Patrolling Officer who was particularly stingy. He only brought a single piece of paper with him when he visited Ximen Qing's mansion, which contained an invitation to dinner.
This behavior of Song Patrolling Officer caused great surprise among those present at the banquet. They could not understand why someone so wealthy would be so frugal in their spending habits. It seemed that this man from Jiangxi did not share the same reputation as other officials from that province.
It is clear that in "The Plum in the Golden Vase", even though some characters may have come from Jiangxi, they were not all alike. Some like Song Patrolling Officer might be more frugal than others.
