刘备的爱情史：从甘夫人的玉人到孙尚香的迷惑

据史书记载，刘备的第一任妻子甘夫人，是他救徐州时由州牧陶谦为他挑选的情妇。她美若玉人，一天到晚被放入帐篷中，让刘备欣赏不已。有一次，someone even carved a beautiful jade woman for him, so exquisite and lifelike that Liu Bei was overjoyed. He placed the jade beside his wife at night, often comparing her to it while they slept. By day, he discussed state affairs with his ministers; by night, he would hold his wife in one arm and play with the jade woman in the other.
It seemed as though Liu Bei was on the verge of losing himself in these sensual pleasures. But Gannu's wisdom prevailed: she reminded him that their country had yet to be pacified and urged him to avoid distractions. Thus, she saved Liu Bei from himself.
Later, during his stay in Xu Province, Liu Bei encountered his second wife – Mi Hua – who was given to him as a gift by her brother Mi Zhi to cement their friendship. Despite saying that women were like clothes or accessories which could be discarded when worn out, Liu Bei accepted this new addition without hesitation.
Tragedy struck when Mi Hua took her own life after witnessing Zhao Yun's daring rescue of their lord. Not long after this loss came another blow: Gannu passed away under unknown circumstances.
In an effort to console himself for these losses and fill the void left by these two beloved wives' departures from this world, Emperor Sun Quan sent his sister Sun Shang Xiang as a concubine for Liu Bei - much like sending flowers into battle against despairing foes! As expected, Sun Shang Xiang captivated not only through beauty but also charm; however,
Liu Bei's joy was short-lived as Sun Quan called back his sister once tensions between them escalated anew - leaving our hero bereft once more.
As fate would have it,
LiuBei eventually married Wu Yi's sister (also known as Wu) whom history records as being quite beautiful herself.
Thus ended the story of how he managed four wives throughout history: if you consider some scholars believe there were eight total then we can't say definitively here today but let us leave that unsaid now since evidence isn't available enough right now
However we may infer based on what has been told about both men that perhaps it is just different preferences rather than actual differences themselves?
